This client asked for us to organize the laundry room, kitchen spice cabinet, kitchen under sink cabinet, cooking utensil drawer, and medicine cabinet in order to increase the effectiveness of the space. In the laundry room, we added a wire shelf above the washer and dryer to utilize the vertical space on that wall. Here we put all the items needed for laundry and clothes care, as well as a few towels that the client used for the dogs. We also added small bins with easy-to-read labels for all of the odds and ends to ensure that everything had a place and eliminate the need for a “junk drawer” or “junk cabinet”. In the kitchen, the client needed space for additional spices but lacked room in the pantry or in any of the drawers. We solved this problem by adding spice shelving to the inside of two of the lower cabinet doors. Also in the kitchen, we organized the utensil drawer by adding drawer organizers to sort and contain the different types of utensils. The client also requested we organized the cabinet under their sink. By using pull-out drawer organizers along with organizers that the client already owned, we were able to utilize the vertical space in the cabinets to store all of their cleaning supplies while working around those pesky pipes.
